Seasons at a glance
🌟
Peak season: Jan, Feb, Mar
Da Nang's best stretch, when the last of the northeast monsoon rain tapers off and the sky turns reliably clearer. Late January onward is the most reliable window, the first few weeks of January can still catch a leftover rainy spell some years. By the second half of March the heat starts building fast, so this window is at its best before then.
🌤️
Shoulder season: Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep
This tier spans the hot half of the year. April carries on the dry season's low rainfall but the heat is climbing hard. May through August see little rain and plenty of sun, but temperatures regularly push toward the high 30s, so the beach becomes less an option and more a necessity. September starts easing toward the wetter months, though it's still comparatively dry compared to what follows.
Off-peak season: Oct, Nov, Dec
The heart of the northeast monsoon, when rain turns torrential. October is the wettest month of the year by a wide margin, and November isn't far behind. December's rain starts easing but still runs heavy in its first half. Typhoon season also overlaps the start of this stretch.
